UNIX/Linux Administrator, Developer
Powerzoa, Inc. is seeking an experienced systems developer who is passionate about building and supporting the UNIX-based infrastructure that drives our business. The key purpose of the role is to provide the day-to-day management and support of Unix environments, as well as contributing to the development and evolution of the system strategy and policies.
This senior producer will
- Monitor, support and enhance the UNIX Infrastructure across multiple environments.
- Plan and implement new installations and upgrades.
- Maintain documentation of system configuration and installation/maintenance procedures
- Maintain physical and logical security and integrity of servers and their data
- Provide assistance and support for the delivery of projects and deployments
- Troubleshoot problems related to backend connectivity and performance
- Manage capacity planning for the system/environment
Qualifications
- Good troubleshooting skills are essential
- Knowledge of backup hardware and software
- Shell Scripting
- Installation of Web Servers
- Familiar with ITIL and IT service-management framework
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Web Application developer
Powerzoa, Inc. is seeking an experienced Web Application/UI Developer who is passionate about building user-facing Internet-based applications. This developer will build a prototype of our Web-based administration portal, which will enable our customers to create and manage their end users so that they may monitor and manage their appliance-level power consumption. This Developer will- Manage the development of the data-driven beta site from design through production
- Create documentation to communicate interactions and software behaviors
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Participate with other team members to share and incorporate innovations
- Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of standards-compliant web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
- Experience with scripting languages (PHP preferred)
- Experience with incorporating database content (MySQL) and expressing it on screen
- Extremely detail oriented and strives for pixel perfect implementation in popular browsers
- Passion for elegant and intuitive user interfaces
- Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for UI components
- Knowledge of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks
- Experience working with HTML/CSS/JS in high-performance environments
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
- 5+ years of experience building web applications preferred
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred
